My dd is ONE today! Hooray!

Recently, she has cut way back on nursing. Often she only nurses for a couple minutes on each side. I NEVER feel full anymore.

She usually does 3 "good" feeds a day. She's eating tons of solids. I have introduced whole milk, but she doesn't seem to like it. (both my other kids loved it)

Is she getting enough bm?

I am concerned about keeping my supply up. It seems to be very sensitive. I have been trying to pump and can usually get 1-2 oz each time with my pump in style. I used to get 8oz + when I pumped.

Does this sound about normal??

I am sorry, I have no advice. My 2 year old still nurses a lot, I wish he would cut back.

dcm, Alex just turned one as well, on October 8.  What you said is EXACTLY how it is for us.  I'm not trying to wean him but I would like him to drink SOME cows milk in case I need to be away from him.  My husband and I are thinking of a weekend away but I'm still too nervous for that.  Alex nurses about 4 or 5 times a day and has 3 square meals a day.  I give him milk with one of those meals and sometimes he drinks a little.  Last night he drank about 5 ounces from a sippy cup and I was amazed!  Keep offering if you want her to drink cows milk.  She just needs to get used to the taste.

If you are worried that she is not getting enough milk (cow's or bm) you can make sure she's getting enough calcuim with yogurt, cheese and other dairy.  It sounds like you are doing fine!

I haven't pumped for several months and doubt I'd get much if I did.

My dd is a little older then that but that is how she nurses too. She nurses first thing in the morning then about 4 times during the day plus to sleep at night. Your supply should stay to her demand. The less she nurses the less you will make. If she starts to take more your supply will go back up. I dont hardly ever feel full anymore.

At that age, my dd probably nursed about 4-5 times per day.  She is 18 months old now and nurses 2-3 times per day.  I rarely feel full, even first thing in the morning.

Thanks for the replies. My supply was really low. It's back up now, though.
I keep offering milk in a cup and nursing. I'm going to vegas for the gathering and she is staying home with daddy. I have a few feedings of bm in the freezer, but not enough. I plan to pump and dump while I'm gone to keep my supply up. I guess she'll have to eat yogurt for a few days.

I wish Josh would decrease. He's 13 months old and still nursing every 2 hours. I've started increasing his solids to try to get him to go a little longer between nursing sessions, but not much luck so far.

My son nursed every two hours until he weaned. Basically, once he got the hang of his sippy cup, he completely lost interest in nursing.

Dd is Now ONLY nursing around 1 am (sometimes), 5am, and 7am. I'm starting my regular bc next month and have a feeling that will dry up what's left of my milk. (that's what happened with dd1)

I'm torn about it. She's my last baby, and I treasure our nursing.

But, she seems ready to wean (except at night) and I'm ready to sleep all night.

At 16 months he's down to nursing only about 4-5 times during the day and 2-3 at night. He drinks out of the sippy, but doesn't want to give up nursing (which is okay for now, but I was supposed to have him weaned by the time my husband gets home from Iraq in May)
