There will never be an age when we say the girls aren't allowed to come crawl into our bed.  Parents should always always be a source of comfort when needed IMO.  In fact, I went through a HUGD personal drama at 17 and had constant nightmares.  For several weeks I slept with my grandmother because I was terrified to be alone.

I've been thinking a lot about this today. There were times when on vaction where one of us must have been beyond puberty that my brother and I slept in the same bed. I can't say that I enjoyed it as he is a flailer and snores.

When my brother and I are both home, it's not unheard of for us to go upstairs and lay in bed with my mother and talk. We don't do this when Dad is there, just mom, but we have since we were tiny. We don't sleep with her, just lay with her before we go to bed (Dad usually goes to bed much later than my mom). I'm 28 and my brother is 26.

When Jacob was 3 weeks old and Dennis had to go away for work, my mother came and stayed with us. We all slept in the same bed rather than hauling out the air mattress.

Maybe we are weird, but I think we're just close to our mother. I hope I'll always have that sort of relationship with my sons.

And I do not, have not and never will think of my brother in a sexual way sick.

I do not think that is weird at all, pumpkin. My family is the same way.

I hope my kids and I are like that too. My mom and I aren't.

Oh, and are you having a boy? I missed that.

We're about 85% sure it's a boy. The doctor/us tech didn't say one way or the other, but he did say 'That sure looks like a penis' when I asked if he could tell the sex, so I'm guessing the odds are in favour of a boy lol.

I think it shoudl end when the people who are sleeping in the bed no longer enjoy it.

I agree with this. My ds, who is now 16, stopped co-sleeping when he started grade 2. My dd is now just entering grade 1 and still co-sleeps. She is ready to make the transition to her own bed pretty soon.
