Hey Everybody!
I was just wondering how everyone is doing.
Are you still nursing?
How old are your kiddos?
Any hurdles that you need to overcome (or have?)
Share your experiences!

I am still nursing both kids.
E has recently turned 4 and is down to one nursing every 1-3 days or so. She had a meltdown the other day and ask to nurse - explaining that it really helped her when she was cranky.
N is 16 months and nursing many times daily. Her first sign language word she learned is 'milk' which she uses for nursing and has created her own sign that is similar that she uses for all other food.
I remember when I first started frequenting breastfeeding boards ~ 4 years ago and being shocked to find women were nursing 4 year olds and a bit bewildered that they'd share it - but here I am doing the same and not a single regret.

my dd is 22 months and nurses too many times a day to count! She seems to think that every time mom sits down is a sign that she should climb up and declare it 'mucky' time.
hurdles.... running daily to two different schools for her older sibs. That has always thrown a monkey wrench into her schedule. Thankfully, Summer vacation is here, so that is no longer an issue.
the other major hurdle was mastitis. Twice with the baby, once with my other dd. Not fun.

Are you still nursing?Yes. Julia will be 5 in March. How old are your kiddos?Morgan and Ben are 9 & 7, the girls - Emily and Julia Are 6 & 4. Any hurdles that you need to overcome (or have?)Our nursing relationship is terrific. My current hurdle is the laundry pile that sits quietly, waiting for me.

I was just wondering how everyone is doing. I'll be much, much better on Tuesday when my MIL goes home (after spedning the last 8 months with us)
Are you still nursing? yes, but only at bedtime.
How old are your kiddos? 3 1/2 in August.
Any hurdles that you need to overcome (or have?) Oh yeah; Wyatt was an 8 week preemie. I pumped exclusively to get my milk to come in (while he was in the NICU) & he didnt really "get it" til he was nearly 3 1/2 months old.

I didn't know you pumped exclusively for 3 months, TQ!
I'm always impressed when I hear people who do that. I had a hard enough time making myself pump 1-2 times a day.

Lily is 3.5 and usually nurses before bed and in the morning. She has finally started sleeping through the night, most nights- maybe twice a week she wakes up once and calls for me. I'm waiting to see what happens when the baby comes- I don't know how she'll react to all the milk suddenly. No hurdles right now, really- just sore nipples, but I'm dealing with it OK since she doesn't nurse too much.

Eli is 2.5. He nurses anywhere from 2-5 times a day. He recently started sleeping through the night the majority of the time.

I KWYM about the soreness, Eileen. If Lily is anything like E, she'll start nursing with renewed vigor! Fortunately, the vigor doesn't last that long...

Kayden is nearly 10 months old and he's still a huge fan of nursing! lol He does still wake numerous times a night and doesn't care for solids all that much.

Are you still nursing?Currently nursing both girls How old are your kiddos?2.5 years and 2.5 months Any hurdles that you need to overcome (or have?)I'm trying to wean my 2.5 year old. We're down to nursing to sleep at night and once, sometimes twice, in the middle of the night/early morning. Just recently she started getting violent during her middle of the night nursings and was hard to settle down. Since it seemed like it wasn't even helping ro calm her down any more, I decided to actively try to wean. I've cut out all the daytime nursings that started back up once DD2 was born and the morning nursing. I tried to cut out the middle of the night ones but that was met with hours of wakefulness for both of us for a couple of nights. I'm now just waiting for the right time to give it another try.
