I was just reading and the author of the article says the BRAT is Brown Rice, Applesauce, Tea. That isn't what I thought it was. I have always thought it was Bananas, Rice, Apples and Toast.

I also think it's banana, rice, applesauce, toast. It's what I was told by our MD, and for added oomph, it's the diet my mom always started us on when we were sick. so there.

well . . . that is debatable I saw this thread and was wondering if you had lost it. I thought to myself, BK HAS to know what the BRAT diet is - she has three kids for cryin' out loud. And then I read it.

And the rice should be white as should the flour in the bread.
I've had to go and buy white bread and white rice specially when we need it for a BRAT diet. Not that it helped her chronic diarrhea at all.

I always thought it was bananas, rice, applesauce, and tea. The tea always threw me for a loop b/c the caffeine in it would cause stomach cramps. I'm glad I now know it's toast.
