OH, how I wish I could tell you the baby was here!
But, he's just hanging out in there, squished as can be. I had a non-stress test and a fluid level check yesterday and he seems to be doing fine. I'm dilated to about 5 cm(!) already, but I just haven't started really laboring. They've got me scheduled for an induction on Monday if I haven't already given birth. Much as I'd hoped to avoid another induction, I'm feeling OK about that.
I'm just enormously frustrated--partly because I'm still pregnant, and partly because I'm just burning up maternity leave with no baby! I just never expected to go this late.
Anyhow, thanks so much for thinking of me!

I feel your pain, I was there almost 3 months ago now! He'll come soon. Did you try eggplant? It didn't work for me, but it did for others!

Come out baby!!! Eggplant parmesan is what worked for BostonJen and others. It has to be eggplant parmesan though. You know what else works? Being a couple of days overdue, walking all over the neighborhood with your oldest all day long, and not being able to get her to sleep. Or so I've heard. I had been walking all over the place with Abbey earlier in the day the night my water broke and I could not get Abbey to sleep for anything. My water broke as I was getting more comfortable lying in bed with Abbey while nursing her. I had Tim get me a towel, but I started shivering from the cold and Abbey wouldn't come off the boob to let me change clothes. I finally gave up getting her to nurse to sleep around 1am, about 45 minutes after my water broke, and then we headed to the hospital after my MIl came over to stay with Abbey. Enough of my memories....I want to hear your story. Baby come out so i can hear a story!!!

I could try eggplant. I actually did have eggplant parmesan a night or two before Alice was born, but she was induced, so I don't think that had anything to do with it. But, it can't hurt, right? Glamour, it's hard to believe Patrick is three months old! GnP, I had been walking a bunch, but the weather here has gotten lousy, so I haven't been out for the last couple of days. Maybe I should just suck it up and get out there with an umbrella. Alice is usually a good sleeper, but I could try poking her to keep her awake, maybe? I'm 41 weeks today. (sigh)

Here's what worked for me with Patrick: 1. Membrane stripping. 2. The knowledge that I'd be induced the next day.
Just keep telling the babe that he'd much rather come out naturally!

Glamour, (oh! Princess!), I would not be at all surprised if he arrived Sunday evening. It just makes sense after the craziness that the past few weeks have been. I have told him everything I can think of to convince him it's time. Even Alice has started encouraging him--this morning she said "it's time to come out now, because it's not May anymore, and you want to meet your big sister, don't you?"

I am far too tired to type out the whole story, but baby Benjamin arrived on Sunday morning at 9:31 AM EST. 8 lbs 3 oz and doing wonderfully! I'll be back with details and maybe even a picture (if I can remember how to post them) soon!
