Oh hell, we all know Hip is a crazy mom!

No, I remember there was some big ole controversy or something about it.

And SJ, what the ped thinks happened was my vaccinated kid brought the virus home, but because the two girls are vaxed for it, they didn't get it.  But since Griffin isn't vaxed yet, he got it.

I'm not allowed at clinical tomorrow.

ETA: Not saying the moms who don't vax are crazy, I was talking about the whole situation being all weird and people getting all up in arms about it.

I took oral Acyclovir when I got chicken pox when I was in college.  It helped tremendously---my case was not bad--one really itchy day, and spots only on my torso and a few on my face.
My brother got it at the same age, didn't listen to my advice to go to the school clinic and ask for acyclovir, and was sick for nearly two weeks.

Ah, ok.  Or he could have gotten it anywhere.  It is highly contagious.  Kyra got them one month prior to getting vaccinated and most people treated us like we had the plague.  We did a constant dose of Benadryl until the pox scabbed over.  Liam had them much worse than Kiki, but still very tolerable.

Most people have been pretty normal about it (well, besides the ones wanting Griffin to slobber all over their kids!  Wink ).  Most people just shrug and say they've had it and whatcha gonna do...  The only people being weird are my mom (who is weird and all "doom on you!" about everything) and my grandma (who leaves for Colorado in 3 weeks and is scared of getting shingles).  Some friends of ours are staying away, but only because he's a cancer patient and gets shingles often, so that's completely understandable.  Although we were with them Friday night, so I hope I wasn't carrying the virus or anything then.  I'd feel so bad if he gets sick.

Tell them not to worry. You can't get shingles from someone with chicken pox (but you can get chicken pox from someone with shingles)
Sorry he got it!
